Las pistas para carreras.


Las pruebas de carreras pueden ser tres: lisas, con vallas, y con relevos. Las primeras se realizan cuando los corredores salvan una distancia determinada. Cuando a esa distancia se le agregan una serie de obstáculos en formas de vallas dispuestas de trecho en trecho, tiene lugar la carrera de vallas, y la prueba pasa a ser de relevos, en el caso que los corredores formen equipos, por lo general de cuatro hombres, que vayan relevándose cada tantos metros.

Las pistas elementales para iniciarse en esta especialidad deportiva, son rectas. En ellas pueden disputarse carreras de 60, 80 y 100 metros lisos, así como las de 60, 80, 100 y 110 metros vallas.

Las distancias superiores reconocidas por la Federación Española, son de 150, 200, 300 y 400 metros lisos, 300 y 400 metros vallas, y 4 x 60, 4 x 80, 4 x 100, 4 x 300 y 4 x 400 metros relevos. Para su práctica es necesaria la pista cerrada, formadas por dos tramos rectos paralelos y dos tramos curvos que lo unen por ambos extremos.

Pistas rectas.

Esta clase de pistas debe de tener una longitud de 130 metros, de ellos, 3 m constituirán la zona de salida, 110 m la zona de carrera y 17 m para el frenado del corredor.

La anchura depende del número de calles. Como mínimo, serán cuatro, de 122 a 125 centímetros de ancho cada una. Para competiciones de rango internacional, son obligatorios los 6 pasillos, con un total de 7,50 metros. Excepcionalmente, pueden disponerse hasta 9 calles de 11,25 metros.
